Statement I use Windsor and Newton Oil colours with processes of layers and washes of colour with stretched canvases often hand made. The old masters influenced me very much I taught myself by reflecting on John Singer, Sargent, Monet, Cezanne, Michelangelo, Caravaggio and Rembrandt. I very much enjoy creating commissions for charity. Being creative has always been my passion and I find studying in a formal education very liberating. Believing that the philosophical sense behind my paintings should be explained to the observer I hope I shall broaden viewers mindsshowing respect shall cause less damage in our environment and I hope this drawing attention to this and slow down what could be a catastrophic outcome .My work is varied and very much inspired by nature such as birds’ flowers and landscapes. I find my paintings are very much concerning nature and the environment this is a continued part of my art practice because the love of environment and humanity shapes my work. Using layers of paint and washes with vivid colours the look of my paintings often has a photography quality and often reference using photographs. This helps my paintings by keeping a vision because my imagination often needs tying down with a vision of what I’m aiming at. My delicate style is quite similar to contempory paintings and I like them to look quite natural with transparency of colour with a white primer this looks quite tactile in its form and surface. The most important thing is love and understanding of each other’s respect and care.
